Video of the Week: Join author Steve Lehto and then owner Mark Lieberman on a 2016 video tour of Tucker 1044

Almost two years before I purchased Tucker 1044, Steve Lehto and Mark Lieberman created this video for Road & Track on the unrestored Tucker 1044.

Enjoy,

Check Out Every Detail of This $3 Million Barn-Find Tucker With 7800 Miles

Join Steve Lehto on a video tour of Tucker 48 #1044, perhaps the cleanest unrestored Tucker in the world.

Recently, our columnist Steve Lehto brought you the story of Tucker #1044, a late-production example of the Tucker 48 that sat untouched in an Ohio barn for decades, showing only 7877 miles on the odometer.

As far as Tuckers go, this is the ultimate barn find. Preston Tucker's company only built 51 examples of the revolutionary design before he was forced to shut it all down. Historians know the whereabouts of 47 of those cars today, making every example that survives a nearly priceless classic.

Lehto, whose book Preston Tucker and His Battle to Build the Car of Tomorrow is available on Amazon, didn't just document the story of Tucker #1044—he got to see it in person at this past weekend's Troy Traffic Jam car show in Troy, Michigan.

Watch as Lehto and car owner Mark Lieberman examine every little detail of Tucker #1044. It gets even better toward the end, when John Tucker Jr., grandson of Preston Tucker, joins them to appreciate this long-lost example of American ingenuity.

We guarantee you'll learn something you never knew about Tucker.

Note: The video interview begins at the 2:20 mark. Watch for John Tucker, Jr. towards the end of the video. Note: Video may not be compatible with Microsoft Edge.

Interesting Video, I’ve learned in recent time, of why the air-cooled engine was converted to water cooled because of unsure of the cooling capability.
The other in this video I’ve learned, of the explanation, of why the Tin Goose prototype had the modern way of opening of the rear doors forward. but decided to have old style suicide doors, easy entry to the rear seating area.
In this video is the original Motorola radio antenna, shown, that was replace with this universal aftermarket antenna that been around for decades on Howard’s restored Tucker, sorry about that Howard for being picky. The fart remembers those originals antenna them days!
