That sure looks like the great Louis Chevrolet in the mechanic seat at Rosevelt Field.
Terrific image! Taken at the 1936 Vanderbilt Cup Old Timers event at Roosevelt Speedway. “Smiling” Ralph Mulford, and Louie Chevrolet in I believe a 1914 Stutz Bearcat.
Was Dr. Porsche in attendance in either 1936 or 1937?
Well… the guy in the front seat wearing a jacket looks a bit like Whitey Ford. The driver is eerily similar to FDR!
Well, I think I might have some of this so here goes with a few guesses:
Driver = Ralph Mulford
Passenger = George Robertson
Ralph DePalma could be second from left
